Joey is a native of The Jersey Shore, and was bitten by the radio bug at the young age of five. Joey’s broadcasting inspiration stemmed from the legendary days of top 40 radio stations in New York City. Joey’s radio idol is The Legendary “Cousin” Brucie Morrow WABC-AM, WCBS-FM, and currently SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Joey continued to work on his ultimate radio goal by doing personal broadcasts for family and friends while growing up, and also hosting many sock hops and parties. He began his internet radio career in December 2000, shortly before graduating from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, when he started his own personal station on Live 365, which has since gone off the air to devote his expertise, talent, and time to producing his Sock Hop Soda Shoppe. Joey joined Cruisin Oldies Radio in June 2005 airing his World Famous and very popular Sock Hop Soda Shoppe exclusively on COR, then started syndicating the show to many fine stations worldwide in 2006. Joey strives to present Fun, Entertaining, and Informative shows each and every week. Leslie Stevens was born & raised in the Los Angeles area of Hollywood, Ca. He grew up listening to doo-wop,rock & roll,  cha cha cha & jazz music. He developed a interest in radio electronics at the age of 12. He built his first radio transmitter kit at 13. He studyied radio and television engineering/announcing . He landed his first job in radio at the age of 19 in a small mountain area of Los Angeles. He worked for three major recording studios and several small independant recording studios. Not to mention, several radio  and television stations in both California & Arizona. His studio is like “a blast from the past” using vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders and tube (valve) equipment from the early days of radio.   All re-built, and sounding good. ” I just the the warm sound quality I  get from vintage electronics.” His studio is located off of route 66 in northern Arizona, west of Flagstaff, In a tiny little town named SELIGMAN, Az. Population is 200.

Welcome to the home of the Solid Gold Music Show, a weekly radio show presented by John Watson. The show can be heard on various radio stations worldwide, and features three hours of classic tracks, great oldies and more.John first got involved in broadcasting at a hospital radio station in Sunderland, UK, back in the 80’s, then on several RSL stations before joining Sunderland’s Wear FM in the late 80’s where he stayed until the station closed in the mid 90’s presenting a variety of shows. Wear FM proudly won the Sony Gold Award in 1992.
John has had an interest in music and radio from a young age, and has a large collection of music and music knowledge, and was even voted best internet radio oldies presenter of the year a few years ago in a Worldwide poll.
